Capacitive v.s. Eddy-Current Sensors
The TARGA III uses capacitive displacement sensing technology, and its accuracy is not affected by the rotation of the test bar or material properties. The displacement sensor distorts the true wobble trajectory, so it is not possible to obtain meaningful information about spindle accuracy. But the capacitive displacement sensor shows true spindle dynamic accuracy.
